1. --- GENERAL RULES ---
1.1 Respect other players.
Take care of all other players. They may not be as fast
or as good as you. They may be new to the game and don't know
the track. Always expect other drivers won't act how you are expecting.
1.2 Don't crash or ram other cars delibrately.
This includes provoking accidents. Like blocking the track,
doing stunts or donuts on the road, or pitlane, speeding through pitlane and so on.
1.3 Drive on the correct side of the road.
The correct side may differ between the servers. Check the
maps (below) for further information.
1.4 Do not go out of bounds.
Dont go behind walls, fences etc. Don't climb on hills.
1.5 Do not interfere with chases.
Stay remote to chases. Let suspects and cops pass and give
them room for maneuvering.
1.6 Horn #5
Horn #5 is reserved as a siren for police and must only be
used by cops.
1.7 Proper language
No swearing, insulting, racism etc.
1.8 Speak English at all times.
1.8.1 Do not add AI players to any of the tracks.
2. --- CIVILIAN CARS ---
2.1 Do not park, do donuts or drift near a police car.
Leave the cops alone and let them do their job.
2.2 Do not block police cars.
Give way to cops in a pursuit.
2.2.1 As soon as you see the siren on your screen, slow down your car and move out to the side of the road.
If necessary bring your car to a standstill and let the chase pass you.
2.3 If you by any chance catch up with a slow chase, do not try to pass it.
- Slow your car down and wait for the chase to move on
- Turn your car around and go the other way
- Stop your car on the side of the road and wait for the chase to move on.
2.4 Skin
You may not use any skin that is similar to or suggestive of being a cop or tow skin.
3. --- CARS BEING CHASED ---
3.1 Do NOT Pit (Shift+P), you may make an ordinary pitstop though.
3.2 Try as much as possible to stay on the correct side of the road.
Being in a chase is no excuse for hitting other cars, and will be treated like ramming.
3.3 If you are blocked or stopped by an officer for more than 5
seconds, you are busted.
3.4 If your car goes out of bounds, you are arrested.
3.5 If you get arrested, the police will impose a punishment on you.
Usually a fine, in minor violations a warning.
3.6 Do NOT go through or behind the pitstalls/garages if you enter the pitlane to repair your car.
It is very dangerous to you and other players in the pits.
3.6.1 If you do choose to drive through the pits, do NOT drive dangerously or erratically.
This includes weaving, driving the wrong side/way, driving at other cars etc.
4. --- COPS ---
4.1 Behavior:
Cops are expected to behave and act like cops.
Proper driving: No speeding, no burnouts, no drifting, no ramming, no tailgating, no wrong way driving etc.
4.1.1 Speeding as a cop:
Do NOT speed as a cop, unless you are in a chase.
4.2 Road laws apply to cops as well.
4.3 Cop tag:
Cops must carry the tag "[COP]" or "[POLICE]" in their names.
"Officer" is not classed as police.
Normal brackets "( )" are no longer accepted for cop tags.
"[COP]" or "[POLICE]" must be all the same colour and should preferrably be red, and not black.
4.4 Skin:
Cops must use a skin that easily identifies the car as a Police car.
- 4.4.1 If a cop has [UNDERCOVER] in their name, they are allowed to have a civilian skin.
- 4.4.2 It should be highly visible so it can be recognised at a glance from a reasonable distance.
- 4.4.3 Main Livery should be based on at least one of a or b below:
- - 4.4.3.a It should have a solid base colour with large areas/panels of bodywork in a contrasting base colour and/or large stripes along the sides in contrasting/hi-vis colour(s).
Suitable base colours are dark colours such as Black, Navy Blue, Dark Green and very light colours such as White, Silver or pale chalk-pastel type colours. Colours such as Yellow, Orange, Pink, Purple and Red are not reccommended as base colours as they have reduced contrast and can easily be mistaken for civillian/recovery vehicles. Yellow/Orange can be used for stripes if they contrast sufficiently with surrounding livery/base colour.
- - 4.4.3.b If you wish to use a "Battenburg" style livery you must be aware of the following:
The colours of the battenburg itself must be Blue and Yellow. These colours are exclusively used by the Police around the world wher e battenburg liveries are deployed. Other colours/combinations are sometimes used by other emergency/non-emergency/recovery vehicles.
When using a battenburg livery, the base colour is less important than in 4.4.2.a, as the battenburg itself is usually sufficient for visibility.
- 4.4.3 The word POLICE (or POLIZEI, POLITIE, POLITIA or similar) must be clearly visible on the front, back and sides of the vehicle in a clear font, in colours contrasting with the background.
- 4.4.4 Police insignia such as police force badges/logos and lights can also be used to improve identification of the vehicle.
- 4.4.5 Other insignia such as racing/team/advertising logos should be kept to a minimum as they often reduce visibility and can make the vehicle appear unprofessional.
4.5 Audible siren:
Cops must use horn #5 as an audible siren when in chase.
Horn #4 can be used in certain situations - see forum for more details.
4.5.1 Visual siren:
Cops must use visual siren when in chase (on= !siren+ off= !siren-)
4.6 Roadblocks:
Cops may setup roadblocks to stop a suspect. Randomly placed
roadblocks are forbidden.
4.7 Backup:
If you are called as backup you are allowed to go faster than the speedlimit to catch up, as long you have activated audible and visual warning.
5. --- COPS IN A CHASE ---
5.1 Cops may break road laws only in case of a chase.
Be sure not to put other players in danger.
5.2 Contact the suspect
Make sure the suspect knows he is beeing pursued before making
any physical contact. NOTE: Force should only be used on the straight track when BOTH sides of the carriageway are clear of traffic.
5.3 Dont crash the suspect
If you're forced to stop the suspect forcefully, be sure not to
crash the suspects car. Use calculated nudges, block the car, create a roadblock, or try a P.I.T. maneuver.
5.4 Rule 1.1 applies even in chases.
5.5 End of a chase
The chase is ended when the suspect has been busted or all
chasing cops have lost contact or are unable to continue the chase.
If there is at least one cop keeping up the chase, other cops may join the chase.
5.6 Try to avoid force if possible / keep it to a minimum
Note: You can be as many cops in a chase you would like.
Though there is a suggested amount of max 4 cops per chase.
Respect the individual cop. If he doesn't want your backup, do not join the chase.
NOTE: Breaking any of these coprules may get you your coprights revoked without warning.
6. --- SKINS ---
6.1 Do not use OFFICER skins.
OFFICER skins are for the exclusive use of PPS OFFICER members only.
6.2 Skins may not contain any pornographic, racist, swearing or in any other way insulting material.
7.0 --- [ADMIN] ---
7.1 Do not argue with the [ADMIN]. If you get a punishment, you very likely broke a server rule.
If you feel unfairly treated, you can send the server owner a message through this website with an unban request or ask for a explanation.
7.2 Respect the [ADMIN]. Remember they are here to help you having a fun time on LFS as volunteers.
They use their own sparetime to run the servers and forum, and they atleast deserve to be respected by other players.
7.3 Obey the [ADMIN] members orders. We are not here to ruin the fun, but to keep everything in order and safe.
If a [ADMIN] member tells you to knock it off, do so.
7.4 The [ADMIN] tag is for use of the [ADMIN]'s only. Do not use this tag unless you are in the [ADMIN] team. (see Staff)
8. --- TOW RULES ---
8.1 Tow tag
Tow cars must use "[TOW]" in their name to be identified as tow cars.
8.2 Behaviour
Tow cars are equal to civillian cars and can be chased.
8.3 Skin
Tow cars must wear a skin which clearly identifies the car as a tow car.
8.4 Special abilities
Tow cars can use the caution sign to warn approaching cars of a danger on the track.
Any other usage is strictly forbidden.
8.5 Payment
Tow cars acknowledge that their service is free of charge. Tow cars tow on a voluntary basis.
You may be fined for breaking rules if an admin is not present. You have been warned!
--- ROAD LAWS ---
Roadlaws are the major gameplay element. Breaking the road laws
will get you chased by cops.
- Obey the speed limit
- Drive safe
- Don't endanger other cars
- No drifting
- No spinning/donutting
- Stop at junctions and use your indicators/turn signal
- No drag-racing
- Drive a safe car. Includes damage/setup.
- Follow police orders. ie. Stop your car, give way, clear the road, etc.
Other:
If you see a message on your screen showing "YELLOW FLAG", it means a car ahead is slowing down/braking or has stopped. Be aware.
If you see a message on your screen showing "BLUE FLAG", it means a car behind you is driving faster than you or is trying to overtake/pass you. Be aware, and leave the car room to pass.
Always drive on the LEFT of the track, remember we are an British/English server.
Do not sit or stop in the track, you will cause a crash or accident.
If admin send you a message, don't ignore it.
If you stop by the road, ALWAYS put your hazard lights on to warn other drivers.
Police sirens are for [ADMIN] and [POLICE] use only.
